Tarot for Full Wolf Moon

It is the full moon of February, 2023, and I’m feeling full. And restless and impotent. Spinning my wheels in the snow. Feeling guilty for not doing something more or better…  Do you feel like that?  When I do, and when I don’t, I pull Tarot cards; getting a little guidance from across the veil. These are the questions I asked: What should I expect? What should I do? What outcome? With my icon of Bahá’u’lláh upon my heart, I ask these questions, knowing that knowledge without inspiration is useless.

As I pulled the cards from The Gaian Tarot app for iPhone & iPad, www.foolsdog.com/Gaian, using the Free Form Spread (Feb 5, 2023 at 10:38 AM) I wrote the following in the journal that is part of the program:

What should I expect? Ace of Air — poised for flight…
What should I do? 2 of Air — listen, and wait; holding what is precious close to my heart
What outcome? 10 of Air — flying in formation out of the storm; transition

All air cards… allow mental focus to lead me from waiting with open ears and heart to the break in the storm that leads to blue skies

I’m doing ok, doing what I’m doing (poised for flight)… though I may feel /hear the negative “shoulds”, I can wait until I hear the pull of my heart leading me into clear skies in good company.

Joanna Powell-Colbert is the creatrix of this beautiful deck, the one that I’ve taken to my heart and used for the past 10 years. I love her art and I love her words. This is what her book says:

First Card – What should I expect?  — Ace of Air (Reversed)
———-
You are emerging from a period of gestation, and are blossoming with new ideas, thoughts or decisions. You may find it easy to change out-moded ideas, habits or attitudes. Your mind is in harmony with your heart, and you are lighthearted, joyful and beautiful.

Shadow side: You would prefer to stay warm and cozy in the chrysalis and not go through the coming metamorphosis. Your mind and heart are in disagreement. Your challenge is to find within yourself the determination to take flight.

Second Card – What should I do?  — Two of Air (Upright)
———-
You are learning to become so still that you can hear the quietest sound of all: the voice within your own heart, the voice of Spirit. Come into the awareness of silence and stillness. Make time and space in your day to sit in silence and allow insight to appear.

Third Card – What outcome?  — Ten of Air (Upright)
———-
It’s a bittersweet time of letting go. What plans, ideas or strategies do you need to release as the old year wanes? Who are the ancestors that whisper to you as the geese fly overhead? What wisdom do they have for you?

Good questions… and life and choices just keep coming. Pulling cards doesn’t tell me what to actually do but it does provide an opportunity for the Power that empowers All That Is to give me guidance. It allows time to pass and time-lines to be woven; it gives me time to breathe and look deeper into the circumstances around me. I am deeply grateful for the tools that have been put in my hands, and the time and peace to play with them.
